Michael Cordner , Director
American Christian History, Understanding the Times
Michael Cordner is an Australian-born, naturalized American citizen. He has been active in teaching the Bible and the application of Christianity to civil government and the social issues of our time since his conversion to Christ in 1971. He is a former engineering manager who joined The Pillar Foundation in 1995, where he has been conducting courses for homeschool students and their parents teaching the Christian worldview, our American Christian heritage, and social and political issues important to Christians. He and his wife Sharon have four children and six grand-children. They home-schooled their two younger sons for nineteen years.
Leah Hite , Librarian / Administrative Assistant
Study Skills
Leah Hite is the Pillar Librarian. She joined the Pillar staff at the same time that her son, who was homeschooled throughout his education, was enjoying Pillar classes. Before becoming a mom, Leah worked for an exclusive international travel company and experienced many exotic destinations. She and her family are life-long residents of the St. Louis area.
Jana Scherle , Administrator, M.A.
Jana Scherle is originally from Jasper, Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University in 2002 and then moved to St. Louis to earn a graduate degree in communication at Saint Louis University. While at SLU Jana also served as a volunteer for Prison Fellowship. For her master’s thesis, Jana combined her ministry with her research to explore the faith and group dynamics between inmates in a prison Bible study.

Tami Claycomb
Mrs. Tami Claycomb is the wife of Jim Claycomb and the mother of 3 grown children. Mrs. Claycomb taught Speech for the St. Clair County Home School Educators group for four years. She also taught and co-led the Ambassadors for Truth Speech and Debate Club of St. Clair County Home School Educators. Her son, Nathaniel competed through the NCFCA and eventually took 10th in the Nation in Lincoln Douglas debate. Mrs. Claycomb has judged and worked with the NCFCA. She has also been involved with Communicators for Christ. Mrs. Claycomb especially enjoys persuasive speaking, apologetics, impromptu, and the debate format of Lincoln Douglas. She desires her students to emphasize and desire truth over winning. It isn't about winning...it is about truth.

Sharon Cordner

Sharon Cordner, a native of St. Louis, who homeschooled her two younger sons for 19 years. Sharon and her husband, Mike, founded Teen Eagles, an organization that trains teens to be leaders through involvement in the political process. Teen Eagles has been active in St. Louis for 11 years and also has chapters in several states around the nation. Sharon and Mike have four grown children and seven grandchildren.

Barb Ellebrecht
Mrs. Barb Ellebrecht started homeschooling her sons in 1991. She began teaching science to a small group of students in 1994, but it wasn't until 1997 when she learned how important it was for God and His word to be central in all that is taught. Since that time she has become a student of searching out truth in education; studying in depth: history, science, and language arts.

Dan Hite
Christian Self Government, Worldview Foundations
Dan Hite, minister-at-large, pastors the Christian Family Fellowship in Wentzville. He is also founder and Chairman of the Board of LINC St. Charles County—Love In the Name of Christ—(formerly Love INC), a faith-based, non-profit community development organization and neighborhood center committed to helping the economically disadvantaged in western St. Charles County.
Linda Lewis
Chemistry
Linda Lewis is a native Texan who has lost her way. She has a BA in Chemistry from the University of Texas (better known as The University), a MS in chemistry from the University of Houston, and a JD from Western New England College of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Missouri, and is admitted to the Federal Bar to practice Patent Law. She did chemical research for Monsanto for ten years before entering the Patent Department, where she worked for seven years. She has home schooled her three children from kindergarten through high school. She is involved with children's ministries at her church.
Barbara Quigley , RN, MA (bioethics)

Barbara Quigley is co-founder and Executive Director of the St. Louis Center for Bioethics and Culture. She received her RN Diploma from Michael Reese Medical Center in Chicago, IL, a BA from St. Mary's College, Moraga, CA, and an MA in Bioethics, magna cum laude, from Trinity International University, Deerfield, IL. She has clinical experience in acute care, hospice, public health, nursing education, and community health education.

Mrs. Julie Ranostaj and her husband recently adopted 12 year old twins from Vladivostok, Russia. Over the past 17 years, Julie has worked for various corporations, where she has held management roles in business development, process improvement, and financial operations.

Robert Wermuth , M.A.
Greek I, Latin I, Latin II
Mr. Robert Wermuth is the father of three young children and holds a Master of Arts degree in exegetical theology from Covenant Seminary. Over the course of his academic career, he has studied six languages: Spanish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, and Latin. Mr. Wermuth has over 15 years of instructional experience. He currently teaches Latin 1 at Christian High School, O'Falllon, MO and "Biblical Greek" as an adjunct instructor at Lindenwood University in St. Charles. He has also taught Latin 1 and 2 at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis and "Latin Exploratory" for 7th and 8th graders at Twin Oaks Christian School in West St. Louis County. Robert's has authored a supplemental beginning Greek study resource, "Wermuth's GREEKBOOK — A Systematic-Relational Beginning Grammar for the New Testament Greek Student" (119 pp., revised and reprinted in 2006).
